AKBUK AREA INFORMATION
Akbuk is well situated, on the way between Altinkum and Bodrum airport. It is
only 15 kilometres from Altinkum resort and 65 kilometres from Bodrum airport.
There are regular bus services to both Bodrum and Altinkum for very cheap
prices.
If you are driving, Akbuk is only 40 minutes drive from Bodrum airport.
A new Bodrum-Akbuk motorway is being built which will make the travel time
even faster and your journey shorter.
Akbuk is one of the rising stars for
the properties and holiday homes. With its nature as well as its history, Akbuk
is attracting more and more property buyers. It used to be a small town where
all fishermen caught delicious Aegean Sea bass, but now it is a rapidly growing
tourism resort with its holiday complexes as well as summer houses, villas,
harbour, hotels...
Akbuk is covered with protected forests and olive trees.
Activities you can find in the region include fishing, hunting, tracking, sea
sports and much more. Legendary lake Bafa is only 10 minutes drive from Akbuk or
if you enjoy livelier atmosphere, you can get to Altinkum which is just a touch
from Akbuk.
The region has many small clean beaches and bays. Akbuk is a much loved
region by foreign and local tourists, it is purported to have the highest oxygen
ratio and the lowest humidity of Turkey, and is rich in nature and sea. So it is
recommended by doctors for people suffering from asthmatic diseases.
Located between hills, forests and clean blue waters of Aegean, Akbuk is
quiet and peaceful. More and more people are moving there who prefer
tranquillity and relaxed atmosphere. The air, nature and landscape are making
Akbuk popular among retired people and families.
No serious construction work is allowed during the tourist season (May to
October). No building is allowed to be more than 2½ stories high. High density
housing is not allowed. These regulations are strictly enforced by the town
Mayor & Council. That’s why you fill find mainly luxury villas for very
affordable prices.
The climate here is warm, but being in the bay a gently breeze is refreshing
to cool you down especially in the peak summer months. In contrast to Altinkum
Akbuk is largely untouched and unspoilt by the tourist industry. I am sure you
will agree it is a little piece of heaven.
The town also has several shops.
Akbuk is self contained and for day to day living the local shops can provide
you with most things. There are many mini supermarkets selling food and grocery,
a chemist, a hairdresser, several shops for electrical appliances, hardware
shop, and internet café, plumbers etc. In fact, apart from large supermarkets,
you can find almost anything that you would require. But should you require
something more, Altinkum, where all the main supermarkets and shops are based is
only a touching distance away.
